Au Pairsare single students between 18 and 29 who want to improve their foreign language skills and their knowledge of another country. We accept currently enrolled college students and recent graduates. Most Au Pair jobs are for women but we place a few men. You should have some knowledge of the language. Above all, you must like being with children. ACCORD Au Pairs work 5 to 6 hours a day, 30 hours per week, plus 2 evenings of babysitting. Mornings are free to attend classes. Weekends are usually free. Duties consist of light housekeeping and child care. In exchange, the family provides a private room, meals, and a salary of about $250 to $400 a month, depending on the country. Free room and board plus a salary can make Europe a reality for students who could not otherwise afford to go. Au Pairs are not considered to be domestic help and they are included in family activities. Their stay is intended to be an educational one. Immerse yourself! For 1 to 3 months you can take language courses and live with a family. You will pay the family directly for the private room and for meals, unless you prefer to eat out. At your favorite café, the waiter who serves your croque monsieur or emparedados calientes will not ask what courses you are taking. As aGuest Teacher you will live in the house as a guest, with meals and a private room provided by the family. There is no salary. Your only job duty is to speak English with the children. No previous knowledge of teaching English is required. Available only in Spain. An Internshipis an unpaid job with a company in London. Internships are available in marketing, engineering, communications, computer technology, finance, environmental studies, and other areas. Maximum stay is 3 months.
